The anime centers on Mao Tsuchiya, a film enthusiast, and his roommate Hisashi Otomo, who share a dorm room under three specific promises: Mao will keep Hisashi’s sexuality a secret, Hisashi will not pursue Mao romantically, and they will respect each other’s private time. These boundaries are challenged as Hisashi becomes involved in a school film project, directed by their film club, which Mao is also part of.
