NetheRealm Studios welcomes Jean-Claude Van Damme to the Mortal Kombat family. Though not as a new character, but as one of Johnny Cage’s skins in the game.
Long time Mortal Kombat fans are likely familiar with one of the most entertaining action stars of the 80’s and 90’s. With films like Bloodsport, Kickboxer and Street Fighter as Guile, yes! Jean Claude is officially in two of the most iconic fighting games of all time.
Appearing in the game as Johnny Cage’s skin makes this the most reasonable way of adding this iconic figure in the game since Johnny Cage was heavily inspired by Jean-Claude himself.
The Character skin will also come with new voicelines and Jean-Claude’s voice to it’s likeness. Jean-Claude’s appearance is a Nod to his 1988 movie “Bloodsport”, sporting the same Garb from the movie. With Jean-Claude in the game, a huge fan can only hope to see Bolo Yeung (Jean’s nemesis in Bloodsport) make a similar appearance or maybe I’m just asking for too much.
