With Loki season 2 finale fresh on everyone’s minds. Everyone is left thinking if this is going to be the last time, we see Loki? Season 2 ends with Loki sitting at the end of time sitting on a throne, grasping the entire multiverse to keep everything alive.
Loki, likely everyone’s favorite villain/hero in the Marvel cinematic universe has arguably the best character development and one of the characters the fans just keep wanting to see more of. Other than the character itself being well written, Tom Hiddleston made the character as he is today.
The finale shows Loki now sitting on a throne at the end of time with all the timelines forming a giant tree, resembling Yggdrasil. Before Loki grabbed the timelines, they were just floating in space and died, they would only live if Loki touches them. Why wasn’t He Who Remains able to do this is by speculation that He Who Remains is just a man at the end of time. While Loki, is a God.
This is the most fitting and fulfilling end to Loki if it were the last time, we’d get to see him in the Marvel Universe but a character that loved also has fans frowning if he has no role to play in the future MCU films. That being said, Tom Hiddleston in an interview in the tonight show with Jimmy Fallon has not confirmed whether he’ll be playing Loki once again but in an interview with comicbook.com Hiddleston rules it unwise to believe Loki’s story is truly over.
An alternate timeline Loki is always on the table but we’ll just have to wait what the MCU has for us and if we’ll ever see Tom Hiddleston as Loki in future films.
